This one was for a customer. I just love how perfectly his hat fits him and had to show 'n tell. I freehanded the hat in sc and dc with (what else?) Red Heart Supersaver. I'll have to write out a pattern next time so I can recreate it.
When I was a little girl, (1) I was born, & (2) I was given a sock monkey by my older sister. Yes, other than life itself, it was the first thing that was ever given to me.
His name was Cecil. (and really...sometimes Cecil was a boy, sometimes a girl...)
I slept with Cecil until I was 25 years old & our dog (read: My fiance, now husband, had this big oaf of a dog who thought all of my things were his) chewed him up. (I choose to say that Cecil was murdered.)
So...I have to say....My Cecil looked just like that with a red hat and all. You just don't ever know how much one person with love adore something when you make it & send it off....
The woman who made my sock monkey was named Cecil & was my grandmother's friend. I'm sure that as she made it, she had no idea that I would carry it off to sleepovers...carry it off to college...etc.
I love being a mama to three wonderful kiddos! I love living near the Jersey Shore. (No, not that one.) I love creating, learning and getting my hands dirty. Thanks for visiting my little corner of the WWW!
