I just love swaps. For some reason it's just more fun to make something for a complete stranger than yourself. I think I just like getting fun mail. :)

My Apron is Here!

Ain't it sweet? Thanks to my swap partner Lorrainne! She also sent a knitted dishcloth and an cute embroidered square.

Here's the apron I sent her with a few extra goodies. I put in some hot cocoa, blank recipe cards and a little box of note cards. Apron featured a curved hem with a ruffle! I was really pleased with how it came out. Hope she likes it! (She likes Chooks aka Chickens so that is what inspired the fabric choice.)

I am soooo excited! The apron swap deadline was this week. I can't wait to see what I got. I sent mine out early since we were going away over Thanksgiving.

In other apron news, I went to Hobby Lobby and found the ideal apron fabric. It's black, red and white with APRONS printed on it! So adorable. I got a red calico with little white dots to make a ruffle and some bias tape edging. Once I prewashed the red calico isn't quite as spot on, but I still think it's close enough.

sneaky peek

Here's a sneaky peek of my swap apron. I am pretty sure that my swap partner doesn't frequent my blog or anything, but I'll show a better pic once she has it. I had a lot of fun with this one! As you can tell it is completely opposite of my usual style, but I think my new buddy will like it.
